The kids painted and I finished up the seats and the hatches. I'll post some sailing adventures from time to time but for now this boat is done!

Paint
We finally got around to painting the deck. I powerwashed the deck and we got the deck house done. After that we started the decks. That's a work in process.

Cockpit seats
I sanded just about all of the teak on the boat and got the old varnish off. I'm still tweaking it but it's mostly done. What is not done are the two cockpit locker seats. They both have a plywood insert that at one time probably was teak veneer. Over the years it has had its fill of varnish. So much that it would not sand. It was also mushy so I decided to replace the insert. I found two chunks of 3/4 inch ocume in the cutoff bin box at Chesapeake Light Craft.
Got one fitted and glued in.

We have a name
From a small town on the cost of southern Ireland.
One small problem we had is right where the "A" lands there is the vent for the diesel fuel tank. We'll touch it up with some white paint.

New paint
The entire boat got sanded. A days work. Half day to paint. Looks good. We did the boot stripe first. Then taped it so we could do the hull and bottom at the same time.
The work gang.

First haul out
We plodded along all winter. Had a small problem last October. The stuffing box started to leak and I had to check the boat every few days. Finally had the yard get a skinny guy to shimmy into the bilge and tighten it. Boat is getting a total makeover. New hull paint, new bottom paint, new deck pant. New name too!! We're also getting a boot stripe. Kids are doing the work... They own it!
